The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has updated their guidance regarding employment opportunities for veterans with a service-related disability under the ADA and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). This guidance applies to both current and prospective employers.
Among other things, the guidance addresses the legality of giving hiring preference to veterans with disabilities, provides clarity on what kinds of questions an employer can ask an employee or applicant regarding the need for accommodation, and highlights the rights of veterans with disabilities under USERRA.
